THIS PROPOSED SCHEDULE IS BASED ON THE FOLLOWING POSSIBLE ARRIVAL & LEAVE DATES:
-GUESTS FROM MOSHI-SUNDAY, 4/21/02 at 11:49pm AND A LEAVE; DATE MONDAY, 4 29/02 (flight leave-time probably 3:00pm).
-GUEST FROM MIYAZU-THURSDAY, 4/25/02 (Mayor and staff person).
SATURDAY (4/27) 8 more guests will arrive. ALL LEAVE TUESDAY MORNING (4/30).
PROPOSED TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FOR SUNDAY 4/21/02TUESDAY 4/30/02
(NOTE: AT LEAST ONE DBSC REPRESENTATIVE AND/OR OTHER LOCAL KEY PERSONS WILL ACCOMPANY OUR GUESTS IN THE TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE TO AND FROM ALL ACTIVITIES AND AT ALL SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES AND TOURS. MR. nGURUMO WILL COORDINATE AIRPORT MEETING AND DEPARTURE FOR MOSHI GUESTS. ARRANGEMENTS ARE BEING MADE BY BOB BARCINSKI FOR A VEHICLE WHICH HOLDS 25 PEOPLE & A CHAUFFEUR-LICENSED DRIVER FOR TRANSPORTING MOSHI GUESTS. MR. & MRS. MIHORI WILL COORDINATE TRANSPORTATION AND INTERPRETING FOR OUR MIYAZU GUESTS.

Sunday. 4/21/02 (Moshi Guests)
Moshi guests plans to arrive at 11:49pm at Ft. Lauderdale Airport. DBSC representative n'Gurumo, Mensah, Murray & any others who wish will meet guests at airport. DBSC representative will escort guests to Colony Hotel and remain with them through check-in. Each guest will be given the final revised itinerary schedule & DBSC tote bag.
Monday ,4/22 (Moshi Guests)
-RELAX and REST from long trip
-10:00am Continental Breakfast at Colony (DBSC reps to meet them at breakfast)
-11:00am Stroll the avenue for glimpse of downtown Delray (DBSC rep to accompany)
-11:45am Board bus to go to Delray Beach Golf Club Restaurant
-12:00noon Welcome Reception & Lunch at Delray Beach Golf Club Restaurant
(Mayor, Commissioners & City Manager needed. Consul Bergh is out of town until 4/24. All DBSC Board & Committee members & other key people are invited.)-2:15pm FREE TIME, RELAX, REST, and REFRESH
-12:30pm Lunch is served (Guests meals complimentary of the restaurant. All others pay. Except for Mayor & at least one DBSC rep, people can come for the reception part & choose not to stay for the sit down lunch)
-6:00pm Cook-Out at Wright By The Sea at the gazebo on the beach. (Boy Scouts have asked for the honor of cooking for the cook-out. We buy the food & stuff). This evening would be our welcome reception for the Mayor of Miyazu and an introduction of the Mayors of both of our sister cities to each other. Our Mayor could be the host for the evening. This event would be for all DBSC Board and Committee members, City Commissioners, City manager and staff who have in some way been involved with Sister Cities, the delegation who went to Moshi last year, the 3 ladies who just climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, the exchange students, select business executives, other recommended names who have been involved with Sister Cities. DBSC pays costs for all.

-Breakfast at the Colony
-FREE TIME & SHOPPING MALL until 1:00pm (DBSC Rep. will escort our guests)
-1:00 to 2:00pm RELAX and REFRESH

-RELAX from travel since just arrived yesterday
-11:00am to 2:00pm TBA (possibly lunch & activity hosted by Japan American Society)

FLORIDA SISTER CITES ANNUAL STATE CONVENTION BEGINS WITH REGISTRATION AND ACTIVITES AVAILABLE AS OF 1:OOpm FRIDAY, 4/26 AND CONTINUES TO 12:00noon ON SUNDAY, 4/28. MOSHI & MIYAZU GUESTS ITINERARY IS SAME AS PROGRAM FOR DELEGATES TO THE CONVENTION FOR FRIDAY AFTERNOON (4/26) AND ALL DAY & EVENING OF SATURDAY (4/27).
FRIDAY 4/26 (same as Florida Sister Cities Annual State Convention agenda)
-1:00pm Registration desk opens for Florida Sister Cities State Convention (at Marriott Hotel)
-2:00pm History Tour of Delray Beach. Plans are for this tour to be conducted by the Delray Beach Historical Society, EPOCH and Florida Department of State Division of Historical Resources. This tour would done for the benefit of our guests from Moshi, Tanzania and Miyazu, Japan and would also be offered to the delegates who have arrived by now for the Sister Cities State convention.
-3:30 to 5:00pm Stroll, shop downtown Delray. RELAX and REFRESH
-8:00pm until - Ride the trolley back to the hotel or stroll the Avenue (plenty of dinner sites along the Avenue if more food is desired after hearty reception food)-5:00pm Convention Reception at Old School Square (This reception will be hosted by the DBSC Youth group and will feature the Young Artists Exhibit which includes art work of Moshi & Miyazu students; tour of Old School Square (see statue gift from Miyazu to Delray Beach); exchange students who went to Miyazu will give do a brief power point presentation about their trip; Atlantic High School Jazz Band* performance at the Entertainment Pavilion; Food (trying to get Japanese, African & American food). At this reception:
-5:20pm - Tour of OSS & view statue gift from Miyazu to Delray Beach-5:00- 7:30pm (entire evening) art exhibit open & food available
-6: 15pm - Planting of tree in honor of new Sister City Moshi
-6:25pm - Atlantic High School Jazz Band at the entertainment pavilion
-6:30pm - Welcome (Joe Gillie, Mayor Schmidt)
-6:35pm- DBSC Exchange students tidbits of experience in Miyazu (introduced by Nancy King)
-6:45pm - Mayors of Delray, Miyazu & Moshi present prizes for winning art works in Young Artist Competition (Nancy King to give brief introductory remarks about category of prizes, etc. before awards are presented) (If possible, power point* of winning art work shown when winner is announced.)
-7:15 - 7:30pm Music by Atlantic High School Jazz Band
-8:50am (at Marriott Hotel) Opening Ceremonies with welcomes from Mayor of Delray Beach, and greetings from Mayors of Miyazu and Moshi, Consul Bergh will greet & speak about how a consulate's office can enhance sister cities friendships.-9:50am to 3:00pm (at Marriott Hotel) various convention agenda topics (see convention agenda) 4:30 to 5:30pm Tour of Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens
-5:30 to 8:30pm (at Morikami) DBSC 25 years Celebration reception and signing of honor of 25 years of friendship and renewal of commitment by Mayors of Delray Beach and Miyazu. Signing of special pledge of commitment to new friendship by Mayors of Delray Beach and Moshi. Stage entertainment performance by TBA (trying to get Japanese dance/song, African dance/song* and American patriotic songs*)
-Children's Day at The Morikami-5:30pm until (Miyazu & Moshi guests together with DBSC)
-Church (choice of many different churches. Will include list of Delrays churches in tote bag given to guests upon arrival.)
-Beach
-City Place
-Shopping
-Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge (Boynton Beach)
-Wakodahatchee Wetlands (Jog Road, Delray Beach)
-Mayor's dinner/party for all guests (location TBA but possibly at the Marriott). This would be the official formal dinner party to present gifts to our guests. Mayor and Commissioners are needed. DBSC pays for guests. All others pay their own. Moshi guests will leave Monday.
