Proclamation Celebrating the Tenth Anniversary

of the Sister City Relationship between

Delray Beach, Florida and Moshi, Republic of Tanzania

WHEREAS, the communities of Delray Beach, Florida and Moshi, Tanzania have been Sister Communities for ten years through Sister Cities International; and

WHEREAS, the common concerns of our citizens transcend dividing lines of language, customs, ideology, and geography; and

WHEREAS, friendship unites people of all ages and backgrounds and surmounts barriers of distance, culture, language and politics; and

WHEREAS, citizens from our countries have traveled to meet each other and pledged friendship to one another for the past ten years; and

WHEREAS, citizens of Delray Beach and Moshi strive to work together on projects and activities that promote mutual respect and understanding through the Sister City Program; and

WHEREAS, the Sister Cities Program is committed to providing all citizens an active role in international affairs to for the ultimate goal of world peace; and

WHEREAS, we pledge our communities will continue their successful partnership for many years to come; and

WHEREAS, we recognize today the tenth anniversary of our sister city relationship and encourage all citizens to further efforts at peace and global understanding; and
