Regular Meeting Minutes
Location: City Hall, First Floor Conference Room

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 4:35 p.m. by President David Schmidt.
Roll Call: As listed above.
Agenda Approval: A motion was made to approve the agenda by Beverly Ouckama and seconded by Ted Marshall. All voted aye.
Financial Report: The financial report was given by Becky O’Connor for the month of August 2009. Becky reported total revenues of $25,812 and expenses of $28,134 with a net loss of $2,322 to date. The cash bank balance was reported as $42,714 with $18,152 of the balance reserved for Moshi and $24,562 for Miyazu as of August 31, 2009. The revenues were tips from the Bon Festival and a $25 contribution match from the Safari Dinner. Expenses were for the Bon Festival and the golf tournament insurance. A motion to accept the financial report was made by Ted Marshall and seconded by Peggy Murphy. All voted aye.
Approval of Minutes: A motion to accept the August 6, 2009 minutes was made by Bev Ouckama and seconded by Bill Wilsher. All voted aye.

Sister Cities International African Grant: No feedback, nothing to update.
Delray Beach Sister Cities Retreat: September 12, 2009 at the Tennis Center, upstairs. There will be a light breakfast at 8:30; retreat will start at 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The retreat will be facilitated by Kathy Brink. Ms. Brink sent the Board a survey to complete prior to the retreat.
Concert for September 11, 2009: Cancelled, the Morikama cannot accommodate the concert this year; will try again next year.
New Business: Peggy Murphy announced that Old School Square will be having the 40th Anniversary of John & Yoko exhibit “Bed in for Peace”, October 5 – October 11, 2009. They have asked children to draw their image of Peace. David will have Jimmy ask the Miyazu high school and Oz will ask the Moshi schools.
Non-Agenda Item: Next meeting will be the Thursday, October 1, 2009 @ 4:30 p.m., in the First Floor Conference Room.
